Enquiry stage
Free discovery call
On receiving your enquiry, the first step is to have a free, no obligation chat. This is so you can get a feel for the way we work and so you can ask any questions you have about James Leighton Wealth Management, our advisers, our experience and reputation in the financial services sector. It gives you the opportunity to find out how we have helped other clients, our success rates, and most importantly, it gives you the chance to establish whether you are comfortable entrusting us with your financial planning for the future. Initial discovery calls are available seven days a week with appointment times available from 9am to 6pm. We make it so you can schedule in a time that is convenient for you – that fits around any other commitments you may have. We even accommodate immediate appointments should you prefer. If, by the end of the call, you feel you would like to proceed to the next step, we book in a full fact find.
Identifying goals
Full fact find
At this stage, we simply chat again, taking things a step further as we aim to gather important information around your current financial situation and how you see your finances evolving in the future. We look at your short, medium and long-term goals which may go beyond your financial ones. For example, if you are planning to get married, start a family or move home, this will all need to be taken into consideration for when we are creating your bespoke wealth management plan. We also carry out an ‘Attitude to Risk’ assessment to see whether you lean towards lower or higher risk investments. As long as you are happy to continue, we will book the presentation appointment with you. Our adviser will then carry out comprehensive research and design recommendations to present to you.
Advice
Presentation appointment
The presentation stage can be carried out over the phone or via video call, or at our premises, depending on what’s most suitable for you. This is where your adviser will take you through their findings. Depending on what you were looking for – whether you wanted advice on savings and investments, tax planning strategies, retirement planning, protecting your assets or a comprehensive wealth management plan – they will detail their recommendations and explain why they are making them. Any questions you have can be answered at this stage, or after if you think of something following the appointment. Our adviser will ask for your thoughts and whether you have any concerns. Once you’ve talked it through, you may decide that you agree with the plan and you want to go ahead, or you may want to take some time to digest the information before coming to any conclusions.
Agreement
Plan is actioned
Whether you agree with the plan as it is, or you take time and make adjustments to it, once you’re ready to proceed, your adviser will implement the recommended investments. Once everything is in place, we remain available and committed to helping you with any questions you may have or any additional requirements. Optional annual reviews are carried out, should you feel this would be useful. It’s a great way to check your plan is working effectively for you, giving you the chance to make changes if appropriate. Again, your adviser will be there to assist throughout.
